Make sure you’re at the British Cured Meat Festival this year
We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be organising the first ever British Cured Meat Festival and Awards at Borough Market from 12.00-8.00pm on Sunday 27th May.
The British cured meat industry has seen a lot of growth and changes over the last ten years and everyone involved has worked extremely hard to get it to where it is today. We thought it was about time we threw a party to celebrate and to bring us, our brilliant producers and the great and good of the Uk food scene together with you, our customers and friends, for a day of meat, booze, demonstrations and dancing!
Here at C&C HQ we’re hugely excited about the festival, the very first of its kind, which will feature demos, street food, craft beer, and stalls from British meat and cheese suppliers to a backdrop of live music and DJs. You’ll be able to sample products from some of Britain’s best producers, plus have the chance to try a meat and wine masterclass with one of the C&C team. There will be street food from Pizza Pilgrims, Bath Ice Cream Co and Gourmet Goat plus a craft beer bar from Fourpure Brewing Co.
The demo tent will host butchery demonstrations including a make your own bacon session and a pie-making masterclass by Calum Franklin. All of this will be compered by award-winning food writer Ed Smith. Whilst the festival is underway, a panel of esteemed judges will be deciding upon the very finest cuts of cured meat made here in the UK for a special awards ceremony. The judging panel includes chef Richard H Turner of Hawksmoor and Meatopia, Jose Pizarro, cookery writer Sabrina Ghayour, Dan Doherty of Duck and Waffle, cookery writer Xanthe Clay and Bernadette Lalonde of Harrods.
Throughout the day we’ll also be treated to live music from a selection of local artists, DJ Oren Sounds plus headliners and country music maestros The Wandering Hearts.
100 early bird tickets go on sale at 9am on Tuesday 13th February and can be purchased at the festival website. These will be £7.50 and include a free beer. Tickets will be £10 thereafter.
We hope to see you on the day!
